Buddy
Hayes, from Birmingham, Al., will be here this weekend
to DJ for us at Nemoe's. Buddy is the perfect
choice to help us celebrate the Independence of our
country!!! So ... go out Friday night and watch the
local fireworks, then come out Saturday night for our own
version of fireworks!!! It's gonna be a fun night!
We
had another GREAT crowd last weekend! Ann Sjoholm won
$123 in Split-the-Kitty, and Roy Tuck would have won $767 in
the ShagAtlanta Lottery if he had been there. The
lottery amount is just getting bigger and bigger!!! Are
you going to be there if your number comes up?!!!

speaking of great crowds, we expect another one this week for
our July Birthday Party!!! Everyone come out
and help us celebrate the birthdays of our July members.
It's going to be a fun party with a Fourth of July theme!!!

We
have received tickets to sell for the 13th annual SOS Fun
Monday Drawing. The drawing will be September 15th and
you need
not be present to win. The tickets are $10 each
and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to CARING FOR
KIDS. The 1st place prize is $7500, the 2nd place prize
is $2000, 3rd place is $1000, 4th place is $500 and 5th place
prize if $250. Check with any member of the EC for your
ticket!!!
We
need volunteers to sell Split-the-Kitty tickets this Saturday
night, July 5th. If you can spare 30 minutes to an

Laura
and Jim Agee are heading up the Nominating Committee for next
year's ShagAtlanta officers. This club desperately needs
new people to step up to the plate and volunteer their time
and effort to make ShagAtlanta succeed. The current EC
is extremely concerned that if we do not make an effort to get
new people involved, this club might not survive in the long
run. PLEASE, please consider running for office. Contact

We
are now taking nominations for ShagAtlanta's Preservation
Hall. There can only be ONE nominee
per member. Remember the purpose is to recognize members
of our club who have made an extraordinary contribution to the
preservation of ShagAtlanta. Nominees must have been a
member of ShagAtlanta for 5 consecutive years. Please be
sure to write a paragraph or two explaining why you think this
person or persons deserve to be recognized. Don't just
send in a name because it will not count. You may either
email your nominations to Joe Woodie at jtwoodie1@bellsouth.net,
mail them to Joe at 2222 Peachtree North Court, Dunwoody, Ga
30338, or give them to him in person. Deadline for the
nominations is July 31 and the announcement of our new
member(s) will be announced at the September General
Membership and Jam.
Save
the Date!!!! Our September Jam will be September 7th at
the American Legion Post #160 in Smyrna. We will have
more information as time draws near!
Another
date to save!!!! We are planning a one-year
anniversary celebration at Nemoe's on August 23rd. We
will have more details at a later date!

The annual
"Meet Me in the Middle for a Sand Flea Reunion"
sponsored by the Carolina Shag Club in Greenville, SC will be
held August 1st and 2nd. Tickets are $20 until June 1st
and $25 after June 1st. Please go to www.carolinashagclub.com for

PLEASE
NOTE!!! When you pull up the flyer, you will
notice that the hotel has changed to the Best Western.
Please make your reservations there so that ShagAtlanta
attendees will all be together. The plan is still to do
the Hospitality Party on Friday afternoon around 5:00 in the
lobby area, and everyone is encouraged to bring something to
contribute. Best Western has offered the area to us, and
in return, we promised to clean up after ourselves, as we
always do. And remember, the hotel is offering a shuttle
service to the new place. This is always a fun party, so
you don't want to miss it!!

The 2008 A.C.S.C.
Summer Workshop at the Hyatt Regency Hotel will be held July
11-13, 2008 in Greenville, SC and sponsored by the Carolina
Shag Club. Tickets are $55 each until May 31st and $60

The
Choo Choo Shag Club will host Shag Tracks XIV August 14th-16th
in Chattanooga, TN at the Alhambra Shrine Temple.
Weekend tickets are $55 before June 1st, and $60 after June

Shag-A-Rama
will be held October 7th - 12th in Panama City Beach, Fl.,
hosted by the Beach Shaggers of Birmingham. Only 600
tickets will be sold!! Tickets are $50 before July 31st,

Mary is a first time grandmother of a 8 lb 5 oz baby girl!!!!
She was born on 6/21/2008 (which is also her dad's birthday)!
